Working together, Reverend Lisardo Cano and Dr.Douglas Schar ancestry DNA tested 76 Spanish Gypsies from 15 Provinces to see if there was evidence of Jewish ancestry. Reverend Cano had studied the Jewish origins of the Spanish Gypsies for over 40 years, so there was little doubt in his mind that the people tested would reveal Jewish ancestry. They used MyHeritage DNA Tests, Family Tree DNA tests, DNA Consultants tests, and various Gedmatch calculators.
The result was overwhelming. All participants were primarily of Jewish origin. They carried ancient Israelite DNA(Canaanite and Levantine), they were found to have ancestors buried in medieval Jewish cemeteries (the 11th century Norwich England Jewish cemetery and the 12th century Erfurt, Germany Jewish Cemetery. Most fascinating, they inherited DNA from Jewish communities from around the world, including Indian Jews(Benei Menashe, Cochin Jews, and Bnai Israel), Uzebeki Jews, Georgian Jews, Azarbajani Jews, Iranian Jews, Iraqi Jews, Moroccan Jews, Tunisian Jews, Algerian Jews, Sephardic Jews, and Ashkenazi Jews.
Below you will find the short form of the study, in various languages. The full study is available in Englis and Spanish at the very end of the page.
