I met Lisardo Cano Montes through a chance meeting; he was a DNA match to one of the Anglo-Romani families who had discovered they had Jewish ancestry. When I contacted him with the breaking news: Gypsies had Jewish ancestry I was in for a suprise. Pastor Cano had made the same disovery 40 years earlier and had spent all those years studying the Jewish origins of the Gypsy people. Together we tested over 75 Spanish Gypsies from 15 provinces. We discovered all participants were of Jewish ancestry. This lead us to test French Gypsies(75), Czech Gypsies, Slovakian Gypsies, and Ukranian Gypsies(100). The result: all participants were of Jewish origin. In the process we found our own "Indian Jones Gypsy" Denko Karchnak who will journey to Greece and Bulgaria to test more Gypsy groups to see if they too are of Jewish origins. Our fearless adventurer will next venture to Kazakhstan to test Gorbati Gypsies to learn of their origins. None of this would be possible without the wise guidance and profound knowledge of Lisardo Cano Montes. Conocí a Lisardo Cano Montes por casualidad; su ADN coincidía con el de una de las familias anglo-romaníes que habían descubierto que tenían ascendencia judía. Cuando me puse en contacto con él para darle la noticia de que los gitanos tenían ascendencia judía, me llevé una sorpresa. Esto nos llevó a hacer pruebas a gitanos franceses (75), checos, eslovacos y ucranianos (100). El resultado: todos los participantes eran de origen judío. En el proceso, encontramos a nuestro propio «Indiana Jones gitano», Denko Karchnak, que viajará a Grecia y Bulgaria para realizar pruebas a más grupos gitanos y ver si ellos también son de origen judío.
